Lisa Page Brooks Celebrates Hallelujah for Heat and New Music

Detroit, get ready for a powerful night of gospel music! DTE Energy’s Hallelujah for Heat brings gospel favorites Ricky Dillard and Lisa Page Brooks together for an evening of praise, encouragement and community support.

I recently caught up with my friend and fellow Detroiter, Lisa, and she couldn’t be more excited about returning home to pour into the people she loves.

“I love my city,” she told me. Lisa appreciates every opportunity to encourage Detroiters, and she’s looking forward to sharing the stage with Ricky, whom she’s known for what feels like forever.

Hallelujah for Heat supports THAW, The Heat and Warmth Fund, which helps Michigan families with energy bills and heating assistance. It’s a chance to enjoy an uplifting musical experience while supporting families in our community.

I also caught up with Ricky Dillard to talk about the event and his music. Read more about Ricky and Hallelujah for Heat here.

Lisa Page Brooks Has a New Song to Share

Beyond the excitement surrounding the concert, Lisa has another reason to celebrate. She’s released “Hand on Me,” her first single since signing with My Block Records.

I was excited about this one even before it was finished. Now, hearing the story behind it makes the song even more meaningful.

Written by Eric Dawkins and Warryn Campbell, “Hand on Me” reflects Lisa’s personal testimony and the faith that has carried her through some of life’s hardest moments.

This release also marks a major change. For the first time in her recording career, Lisa entered the studio without her late husband, the legendary Michael Alan Brooks, by her side. She says Warren Campbell and his wife, Erica, helped her feel comfortable and respected as she stepped into this new chapter.

One Second at a Time

Lisa has been navigating the deep grief of losing her husband over the past two and a half years. While she finds comfort in knowing he is in the presence of the Lord, she’s honest about the moments when life still feels overwhelming.

People see her singing, encouraging others and bringing energy to the stage. They may assume she’s always strong. But Lisa says that’s not always the case.

She’s learning to manage her emotions while continuing to live, work and handle everyday responsibilities. Through it all, she credits God with giving her the strength, wisdom and support to keep moving forward.

Her reminder is simple: one second at a time.

That message is at the heart of “Hand on Me.” It’s a testimony of God’s faithfulness through loss, change and the unexpected turns life can bring.

I’m so happy to see Lisa embracing this new season, both personally and musically. We even had a chance to celebrate her beautiful new granddaughter, Adayah Charise Loftin, during our conversation!
