Grown & Gospel is a new docuseries premiering on WeTV this Thursday featuring a group of childhood friends who have been immersed in the church and gospel music industry all their lives. The twist is, they were all raised with some of the greatest gospel singers and preachers from Detroit.
The cast features Nikkia Cole Beach, J. Brooks, Elijah Connor, BreeAnn Hammond, Tasha Page Lockhart and Shana Wilson Williams. And if the names sound familiar you’re correct… they all hail from Detroit Church and Gospel Royalty.
I had the opportunity to catch up with Shana Wilson Williams on the eve of Grown & Gospel’s premiere and we talked about how this series came about, the pressures of doing a reality show, and the nerves about seeing it for the first time.
But if you know Shana… she is the truth. No matter what.
