From Porn to the Pulpit: Apostle Danielle Williams-McCord’s Testimony

When Apostle Danielle Williams-McCord sat down with me, I knew we had a powerful story to share. But I wasn’t prepared for the depth of her testimony and the way God has turned her pain into purpose.

Introduced to me by Willie Moore Jr., Danielle recently moved to Detroit after spending time in California and Atlanta. She believes God brought her to the Motor City for a reason, and she’s already getting to work.

Danielle describes her journey as going “from porn to the pulpit.” Her story includes childhood abuse, unimaginable loss, addiction and years of making decisions shaped by deep wounds.

She began stripping at 14 and entered the adult film industry at 18. Along the way, she endured more trauma, including a terrifying experience in which a man kidnapped and abused her. Alone and afraid, Danielle prayed for God to save her. She promised to change her life if He allowed her to survive.

She eventually escaped and returned to Los Angeles. Today, she shares her testimony as an apostle and minister, reaching people who may feel judged, rejected or too far gone for God to use.

Apostle Danielle Brings a Message of Hope to Detroit

During our conversation, Danielle explained that her grandparents planted seeds of faith in her life, even when her choices took her in a different direction. Those seeds never completely disappeared.

Now, she wants others to understand that their past doesn’t have to determine their future. “I’m not calling you to the religious. I’m calling you to the rejects,” she told me.

That message is also at the heart of her upcoming Detroit revival, The Sound of the Survivor. Taking place Saturday, October 31, at 6 p.m., the free gathering will offer spiritual encouragement, food and refreshments at the Detroit Hope Center, 17220 Kelly Road. Register HERE

Danielle wants to reach people struggling with life’s storms, including those who feel disconnected from the church. She also hopes parents will bring their teenagers because, as she emphasized, young people need to know that hope is available to them, too.

There’s something powerful about hearing from someone who has faced devastating circumstances and discovered a new purpose on the other side. Danielle wants people to know that surviving the storm is one thing. Discovering what life sounds like after you’ve survived it is something else.

I left this conversation encouraged by her honesty, her faith and her heart for people who need a second chance.

Apostle Danielle Williams-McCord shares her remarkable testimony and explains why she’s bringing The Sound of the Survivor to Detroit.
