Some conversations just feel like family. My time with Minister Farreece G was definitely one of those conversations.
I’ve known Farreece for years, and I’ve watched him continue to create, encourage and pour into the gospel music community. Now, he’s celebrating a major milestone in a very special way.
Farreece is turning 60, and he’s marking the occasion with a live recording on Friday, September 11, at Triumph Church’s East Campus in Detroit.
This won’t be just another birthday celebration. Farreece is bringing together family, friends and some of the voices he loves to create a new musical experience.
The lineup includes Semaje, Akita Steen, Lillian Lloyd and Jeremiah, along with others. Producer Emmanuel Johnson is also helping bring the live recording together.
For Farreece, the night carries a deeper meaning
Over the past few years, he has faced some serious challenges. He has survived four strokes, including two this year. One happened during a rehearsal, and he says a reminder from a friend about what to do during a stroke helped him in that moment.
That experience changed his perspective.
Farreece knew he had to create a record behind his testimony. He also wanted this project to include different generations and musical styles.
I love that he’s making this a family affair, too. He’s intentionally bringing relatives and longtime musical connections into the celebration. That says a lot about who Farreece is and what matters to him.
The Big 60th Birthday Bash and Live Recording begins with VIP dinner from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by the recording from 7 to 10 p.m.
Tickets include balcony and main-floor options, along with VIP packages featuring dinner, reserved seating and a gift bag. Tickets are available through Eventbrite and God’s World Superstore.
Knowing Farreece, I already know this night will be filled with music, laughter, testimony and plenty of love.
Most importantly, it will be a celebration of 60 years of life, grace and purpose.
I’m so happy for my brother and proud to see him stepping into this next chapter. I can’t wait to see what comes from this recording.

About Randi Myles
I’m a child of God with a lot to say.
Here you’ll find conversations with artists, authors, speakers, and teachers across the faith community. You’ll also find pieces of my own journey—colorful, rich, and sometimes really hard. I come here looking for answers, hope, and a place to breathe.
My mom wanted me to write a book. I’m working on it. So yes, you may catch me figuring things out in real time.
These days, I’m learning how to balance a joyful, fast-moving work life with a personal life that’s stretching my faith. I trust God to carry me to victory—so welcome to my life.
