What is your favorite genre of music?
I grew up in a household with music playing throughout the day. It was either the radio, or my mom’s vast amount of records from gospel to jazz.
On Saturday mornings it was music to clean the house by. On Sunday it was gospel to get ready for church by. In the car… R&B or Top 40.
So it’s no wonder I became a DJ!

Back to the question though. My favorite genre of music is Gospel music. It lifts me up as well as soothes my soul. Working in the genre is not only fun but it feels like a ministry because it lifts a community of people who turn to gospel music to make them feel good.
BUT! At any given moment, you can see me jamming to anything from R&B, Pop, Old School Rap, Reggae, Blues and Jazz.
I get it from my momma!
Amen!!!! I grew up in the early 60’s and my mom played mostly the Motown Sound. I learned those songs before I knew my ABC’s. In 1969 she brought home a song from a new group called the Jackson 5! Thanks Mom. In the the 1970’s my gave her life to Jesus Christ and new music came into my life.. James Cleveland, Andrae Crouch, Jesse Dixon, the Hawkins Family! And passed on the Gospel, Pop and Soul music to my children.
I can ABSOLUTELY relate!
