The Inkster Home of Malcolm X placed on National Register of Historic Places

(WXYZ-Detroit) When Aaron Sims found out that the abandoned house on Williams Street in Inkster was once the home of Malcolm X, he and his organization set out to save it. Sims has officially seen his efforts come true as 4336 Williams Street is the “very first historical place in the city of Inkster”.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced yesterday that the home has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. In August 2021, a local nonprofit was awarded a $400,000 grant to restore the home and possibly turn it into a museum.
