Basketball legend Michael Jeffery Jordan was born today in 1963. Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards for 15 seasons. He grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina where he played baseball, football, and basketball. Ironically, when he first applied to the varsity team as a sophomore, he didn’t make it because of his height, a mere 5 ft. 10 in. Over that next summer though, he trained hard and grew by four inches … making the team during the next trials.

Jordan was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009 and is tremendously successful with product endorsements, television, movies and part-owner and head of basketball operations for the Charlotte Hornets; gaining 90% interest of the team in 2010.
