Give & Receive: Turkey Giveaways, Meals & Volunteering For Thanksgiving In Metro Detroit

Community Network Services (CNS), the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the city of Pontiac Mayor Deidre Waterman and Oakland Integrated Healthcare Network (OIHN) will proudly give 500 complimentary turkeys to residents of the city of Pontiac.

Apostle Tameika Sweatt is still seeking hygiene kit donations, blankets, hats, gloves and volunteers.  Contact at 313-528-9507 for more information.


The Stylists Beating Hunger (SBH) organization will hold a soup kitchen for the less fortunate families and the elderly this Thanksgiving at Omars Bistro 12809 W.7Mile Detroit from Time: 8am – 11am.

SBH is also asking for donations of turkeys, chickens, and sides that they will prepare and with other donated provide to those who attend the soup kitchen. If you would help, call 313-466-0722 or email stylistbeatinghunger.sk@gmail.com. Donations can also be made on the Facebook fundraiser page for SBH soup kitchen. This is tax-deductible and a letter of receipt can be given upon request.

The Body of Christ International Church is asking you to help us feed families in need for Thanksgiving. The holidays are really a hard time for so many people because they are in need and are wondering if they will be able to feed their families. They are asking for donations of at least 100 Rotisserie Chickens and at least 350.Turkeys.

Crossroads of Michigan (crossroadsofmichigan.org) a soup kitchen (Sundays, 12-3 pm), provides Social Services (emergency food and clothing, prescriptions, employment, transportation, and obtaining identification) and employment services (job openings, employer information, job readiness preparation).
