I  became really close to a beautiful family while working at a popular radio station in Detroit in 1999 through 2001. Cindy and Clarence would come to every event I’d host and if  there were family events, they’d bring their cutie-pie kids Clarence and Crystal. Cindy would call me daily, send me pictures and write to me often. I loved that family as if they were my own but after the station changed formats we lost track of each other.

The family suffered a tragedy when Cindy died in 2002. I didn’t find out about it until afterward because I was at another station by then and they had to find me. I prayed that I could help those kids through that rough period but I lost contact with them all together.

Over the years I thought about them and wanted so badly to reach out but didn’t know where to start. So, imagine my surprise when I found the letters and pictures Cindy sent while moving a couple of months ago!

Once I got settled I started looking for them – via Facebook of course – and found Crystal!!! We finally got together after talking and texting each other over the last few weeks.

Last week Crystal asked if she could add me as her “mother” on Facebook. Tearfully I said yes. So ladies and gentlemen here is my daughter sent by God, Crystal!

I’m sure Cindy would be pleased to know I’ve found the family. I’ve had the opportunity to see both Clarence(s) tonight and my heart is filled with joy. I now have the opportunity be there for them.
